Worksite Description:

First Peoples Buffalo Jump State Park is a place where people can learn about prehistoric life on the plains. Visitors can find out what life was like when hunter gatherers moved across the area and roughly 2.5 million buffalo existed in Montana. We invite guests into our viewing area to hear the account of these First Peoples and their ingenious hunting methods. Visitors can then grab a self-guided trail book and hike our interpretive trail up to the top of the very cliff that was used to jump entire herds of buffalo so long ago. First Peoples Buffalo Jump State Park also offers guest speakers, special events (including Traditional Game Days and The Montana Atlatl Mammoth Hunt), interpretive programs, and field trips.

Worksite Description:

Get Fit Great Falls is a coalition of like-minded people who encourage neighbors, family, and friends to get active and make healthy choices when selecting foods for their dinner table. Getting regular physical activity can improve your health and well-being in a number of ways. In fact, it can substantially reduce your risk of dying of coronary heart disease – the nation’s leading cause of death. It can also reduce your risk for stroke, colon cancer, diabetes, and high blood pressure and help control weight.

Members of the Get Fit Great Falls coalition promote the benefits of healthy lifestyles to the citizens of Great Falls and Cascade County through a community-wide effort. GFGF members volunteer their time to promote and to inform people about the benefits of a balance of nutritious foods and being physically active. We also promote sustainable change in our community to help us integrate physical activity, such as walking, bicycling, hiking, swimming, and jogging into our daily routine.

Since 1966, the Great Falls Children's Receiving Home (GFCRH) has provided an emergency safe haven for over 10,000 local children who have fallen victim to heinous acts of child abuse and neglect. Each year, approximately 200 local children (most from Cascade County) enter the doors of the GFCRH as they have been tragically victimized by an adult caretaker. The GFCRH provides comprehensive services to each child entering its doors. In the State of Montana, it is estimated that 3000 children are in foster care each year. Cascade County has the largest population of these victimized children, accounting for approximately 1/5 of all children entering foster care.
